For the life of me I can't get the sensor clean. :( Don't know why ... my A700 didn't / doesn't seem as difficult. |

You have access to essentially the same cleaning tools as anyone else. What approaches have you tried? What is the apparent nature of the 'contaminant' (solid, liquid, small area, large area...)? |

"dust bunnies" that I can't seem to clean. No idea what they are from other than standard dirt/fuzz that has hardened. I use Eclipse 2 with sensor swabs (PecPads). Like I said, the A700 in the past was easy ... the A77 seems harder. |

You can actually see stuck particles on the sensor?
Any chance that some of your bunnies are on the SLT mirror (either side) rather than the sensor? |

Ahoy!
Lens/Camera Repair + Pro Sensor Cleaning: Continuing on the main theme, but in this case for UK Minolta/Sony lens/camera repair/service and sensor cleaning, the place you need to go to is Camera Repair Workshop (CRW) who were the Konica Minolta (UK) repair agent, and the best thing to do is to phone Dave and discuss with him first. Forget emails or Facebook etc. I've used them a few times and have been very happy with their work. Camera Repair Workshop DIY Sensor Cleaning Guide: This has been discussed a zillion times, but if you click the URL below, it'll take you to the Dyxum Knowledge Base thread and specifically to a 'how to' guide I wrote some years ago now for wet and dry cleaning and the kit I used and from where it can be bought. I don't know if SLT is the same or different to DSLR, but I wrote it for DSLR cameras, so maybe it'll be useful to you. It isn't a definitive guide as other products and methods are available, but for £50.00 (ish), it'll pay for itself after the first clean, though it's a learning curve and it'll take a few attempts to start with. I've used PJ Camera Repairs in Stoke-on-Trent (well, Newcastle-under-Lyme really), and they have always done a good job cleaning mine. (I'm too much of a wuss to do it myself.)
I took 2 bodies in for a precautionary 'inside cleaning' after a trip to the Middle East, and they looked, said they didn't need doing, ( I didn't change lenses out in the actual desert, which is probably why) and didn't charge for looking. I bet a some places would just have charged me for the two cleans anyway, and possibly not even done them. |

Just thought I would pass along a positive review of a repair of my Sony lens here in Vancouver. This is the second time i have used Fusion Cine (see link) and have been impressed with their stellar service. I have no affiliation with them but their service needs to commended. I had a ‘mishap’ with my lens and couldn’t remove the bent filter ring. They said they would take a look at it but it didn’t look good. Later that day, damaged ring was removed, email received and $25 dollars later, lens is back. Lucky I had a filter on it.
