Since it is not applicable to FastHybrid AF, the focus rate of AF85/1.4 is not high even with 99II.
Still, there are only a limited number of reviews, but the 7RIV+LA-EA5 seems to be slow but rarely out of focus. And the 7RIV also has EyeAF.
It's a pity that the 7RIV is extremely expensive, but the difference is not small.

Interesting. Looks ok.

However, these are with the zeiss 50mm. As yet I have not seen any videos using a screw drive lens, or rather someone showing a screw drive lens focussing. (Granted, I may have missed one). I think that is what many of us want to see.

Does anyone know if the la-ea5 will give screw drive af with the a7c? I assume not as it's heavily based in the a7iii.

But it also includes some of the later AF magic, so maybe? Iím still still waiting for Sony to update the compatibility chart.

It would take a camera I'm fairly "meh" about, to one i'd plonk a preorder down on!
