Sony are running a series of promotional events/workshops around Australia and New Zealand in coming weeks.
Details here Sony ANZ events.
Basically an opportunity to test drive all the latest camera bodies and lenses as well as a series of themed photo walks and workshops run by Sony ambassador photographers.
Typically each event is limited to 25 participants, and the cost to join is AU$35.00. However some of the professional studio workshops cost lots more.

Could be worthwhile for anyone wanting a hands on opportunity to check out the best and latest e-mount gear.

Of course there's not a mention anywhere of anything a-mount.

Participants are invited to bring along their own Sony interchangeable lens gear and an SD card presumably so that images taken by participants can be downloaded and screened for critique and feedback.

Being a rusted on a-mount shooter heavily invested in cameras and lenses of that type, I'm probably not going to participate. Doing so would possibly spark lens lust or a G.A.S. attack, and part from that, I don't think they will be embracing anything a-mount. As well, when I have attended previous Sony workshops I found the pitch was pretty basic for anyone with any sort of expertise in photography. Not that you can't always learn...
