Well, SLTs never interested me, so I have known A-mount to be obsolete for my use for many years. A900 worked fine for a long time, but eventually I craved a more modern system. When e-mount evolved sufficiently I decided to go with it.
I donít have more long teleprimes. I can recommend the 70-400 as an alternative. It is pretty sharp at the long end, only 2/3 of a stop slower, and, in contrast to the Minolta, will work well with on sensor AF through the LA-EA3, once you realize how nice Sony mirrorless systems are

A9,
12-24/4G, 70-200/4G, 100-400GM,
35/2.8Z, 35/1.4Z, 55/1.8Z, 85/1.4GM, 90/2.8 macro

My wife gave me an AD200 with a radio trigger and a deep parabolic soft box for birthday. I hope this will start a new adventure in my photography

The a9 is unbelievably nice.

P.s.: I suppose we are drifting OT

If you want to see mounts with no future, look to Nikon and Canon DSLRs. The camera shops (and places like CEx) are now full of them. No E-mount lenses in stock s/h except for a very few in the high-end camera shops.
Miranda F & Sensorex, Sony A58, Nex-6, Dynax 4, 5, 60, 500si/600si/700si/800si, various Sony & Minolta lenses, several Tamrons, lots of MF primes and *far* too many old film cameras . . .

In my parallel universe, the furthest I want to go is the A99II, but I am in no great hurry. When they run out the model, I will make a move.
I guess that how some of us roll.

You are not alone. I think they have sold at least 150 a99IIs

If that is the case, why do you own a LA-EA4? It is the worst of both worlds.

The A99m2 is a wonderful camera and Sony knew they would sell limited numbers. But I think they sold more then some of you assume. But we probably will never know how many exactly.

I don't. I forgot to update my signature. I owned the LA-EA4 to see how it worked with my screw drive a-mount lenses as I transitioned to e-mount. As you have discovered, it sucks badly. Now I don't have any screw drive lenses left so I sold the adapter

I was joking of course. I am sure it is a fine camera.

I've enquired with WEX in the UK about the A99ii and been told that they currently have no stock. Not sure if that's a global issue but they currently have no stock in the UK.

The A99m2 is in stock in major Dutch photography sites. Sony is currently running a promotion in Europe (at least in the UK and NL) where you get a Ä500/500GBP discount if you hand in an A mount camera. There must be enough cameras around to warrant this promotion.

@Jonas:I did not know you got rid of the LA-EA4. The A99m2 remark, yes, I assumed you were joking.

I could walk into at least a couple of camera shops here and walk out with a new A99ii if I needed a second one. That is the only A-mount camera I could buy on a whim; I understand that in some parts of the world the A77ii & A68 are still current models, but not in Oz. And the A99ii is never included in any promos.

In Oz the A99ii is only for folk with too many A-mount lenses to consider swapping, as even shops that stock the A99ii carry few (if any) lenses. I have only one lens that I've bought new, not because I won't pay for new, but because new isn't available.

20/2.8 | 28/2.8 | 50/1.4 | 135/1.8Z | 300/4 | 500/8
