now they are talking abt a pancake 16mm f2.8...
can't really wait for this combo.

that will equate to 24mm as NEX has a sensor similar to my a700. isn't it?

Gustav, we certainly don't want you to remain "detached", even if once in a while your predictions miss the mark. We value every single one of your predictions and their hit rate is FAR higher than anyone else.

I certainly agree, Gustav. It was the people who were telling you about the PR on April 18 who had misunderstood. And missing a few is part of the nature of predicting.

The Sony Alpha Rumours site has a link to a video on the Sony Japan site which includes an example of a panorama photo:

I can't find the video on Youtube, and the UK one doesn't have the Sweep Panorama slide. I wonder if anybody is up to watching all the videos here:

Looking for it, guess what I found:

from the video I'd guess these cameras do also sweep panoramas

+1. And personally I value your prediction far higher than those rumor websites outside. And today the NEX website is updated here so we can't say you're wrong

in the sony movie ad it shows how the camera easily allows the user to
turn a dial and "micro adjust" the focus, while watching the lcd. It
showed the focal plane clearly as the control was turned

to see the video there's a link on the screen in red
http://www.sony.co.uk/hub/dslr/2/compact-camera#news

actually it looks pretty useful

also in the video i noticed that they only showed the front of the
camera, with lens, in the very beginning and it is very OOF

it'd be interesting when sony tries and add with a zoom or long prime,
since that won't look so small

It's like that old commercial in the U.S. that had Carly Simon's song in the background. The ketchup was taking it's merry old time coming out of the bottle. "Anticipation..Is makin' me late..Is keepin' me waitin'." Well, to many, Sony is late but we are all waiting.

Mine was saying the same too and I got her one of those little gadgets. Not that she minds shooting with an A700 or now the A850, for videos she prefers the simplicity of the small SD based camcorder. To make the deal sweeter, the new bloggies have a rotating sensor making self videos (with the kid resting on the arm) very easy.

Brian, I was specifically referring to the baby on the way. That is no time to experiment . In general, I am with you and I already convinced my wife that she needs one of new cameras.
