But only because that was the first day of a major trade fair (PMA 2010). Which trade fair is on the 18th? |

Keep in mind that what's Sunday for us may be a Monday in Japan due to time zone shenanigans.

It'll be Sunday the 18th for us, but Monday the 19th in Japan. That's what I was saying. |

Thom Hogan has more to say on the camera in the context of his commentaries on what Nikon need to do. (His series on the future of the camera is very good read - see this page, where they are archived.)
The Sony comments are in the commentary today (13/4). The key passage (with my highlights) is
This is the first time I have seen a reference to the likely accompanying lens package. NB: Sony Alpha Rumours is also going with a May announcement and June availability. Edited by Stanbury - 13 April 2010 at 17:22 |

That site is useless (and in this particular case it is a circular reference). You are much better off paying attention to what is said in this forum. -Serdar |

We'll see, of course - the announcement is imminent whether it comes this month or next. I think maybe I should have made my 'NB' a 'FWIW'!
But if alpha rumours was using Hogan as a source (or vice versa) wouldn't they both be mentioning the 24mm-equiv lens? |

Thanks, I had missed that - maybe that's the lens shown on the silver camera body in the PMA mock-up photographs.

Nice! I am on Olympus micro 4/3 event the following week. So either Sony show something very nice or I can get an E-PL1. At least I would be able to make somewhat educated choice. |

If you managed to hold off for so long, from flipping the switch for an EVIL type camera, I personally would wait a couple of months more and see what the other manufacturers will come out with.....including Sony's own take on EVIL. ![]() |
