I have updated the links to Flickr for photos 1-3; I hope they are visible now. (I maintain my Flickr account from LrC and it's possible photos got updated and I used an earlier link that currently shows a photo to me but not to others.)
Yes, I wasn't so sure about #7 and nearly converted that to B&W as well. The skeins of water make the picture for me, but the composition doesn't sit as comfortable as some of the others. I'm always surprised and what works for others, and it's useful to get these comments. I wanted to get away from the wave-smashing-a-seawall trope (not entirely though, as you have seen) and 8, 13, and 14 appeal to me most. Alan, Stornoway are an Oxford band with a number of fine tunes under their belt. They chose their name in part because Stornoway features on all the weather maps on the BBC so they felt it would help with exposure ... |
