On Monday we visited the source of the Thames (my son was completing a 300km walk from Woolwich in London).

This drone view shows the last 2km of the walk, and the meandering greener vegetation marks the course of the river.

There's no river to be seen out here at this time of the year.

As you might expect, there is some debate about where the source of the Thames is. This spot seems to be where the river comes out of the ground, but the official source, as marked by the Thames Conservancy in its time is another few hundred metres on:

When you read up on the river you find there is a tributary that meets the Thames, the first of many, whose source is a further ten miles or so away than here. So I do wonder how people decided that stream A is the source when strem B offers more length. If this other stream was accepted as the true course of the Thames it would make it the longest river in Britain, beating the Severn.

Nice view and some spectacular colours :)
Was it so hot that the air down there at the base of trunk was waving and that's the reason for lack of sharpness?
