We saw plenty birds and wildlife during our three week vacation in Newfoundland, but we only saw one puffin. Stories are that there are many cliffs where you can spot hundreds of them and we went to several but never saw one. Only the last try we saw a lone one very far away and after less than a minute it went back inside.

It's a shot with 500 mm cropped to about APS-C format on a 42 MP sensor (~20 MP used) and it's still very small, but I think it still qualifies as a "subject and their surrounding", just a small subject in a very big surrounding

The best time to find Atlantic Puffins is during the breeding season. From late April through August they come ashore to nest on islands—the rest of the year they’re far out at sea.

Thanks Paul, but we were there from May 24 until June 12, so in the middle of Puffin season, they just didn't want to show for us
