Very nice Joe, I like how the meandering canyon/river pulls the viewer into the image.
Mind the bandwidth of others, don't link pictures larger then 1024 wide or 960 pix high, see here

Great shot, Joe - I know how challenging this location is and I think you've captured it very well here. You've allowed the canyon (well, one of them at least!) to take the eye through the frame and I think it's also a good move to really limit the amount of potential bright sky in the shot and force the view into the main part of the scenery. the colour in the immediate foreground also looks good - I don't recall seeing this particular series of colours but we had quite a limited 'experience' of Canyon Lands so it's good to see another perspective.

Thanks for sharing and best regards, Neil.

Thanks Pieter,
that river is Green River ahead of its confluence w the Colorado, I believe. I'm taking the photo from the "Green River overlook"
I've never had, what I considered was a "stand alone" photo, but I thought this was mine. During the day I was down in there and photographing. It was completely different.
thanks again ______Joe

Hello Neil
I'm happy to give credit where credit is due
Your beautiful photos inspired me to explore Utah and so far its been amazing.
I've travelled much of the West but up till now, I've intentionally steered clear of Utah.
Your photos catalogued the wonders here so well, gave me an idea to come out once a year and concentrate the time on one specific area, like the CanyonLands, etc. There's so much there, as your Vacation so pictured

After my visit at CanyonLands, specifically sunset on Island in the Sky, everything else was anti-climatic. Even the one thing I had gone accomplish, the Monument Valley road photo.
That plus the Big Boy's amazing experience. I remember telling my friend in Williams, Az "I'm Done!" for this trip

Thanks for being such an inspiration w your phenomenal adventure, which I'm sure was more difficult than looked, but therefore more rewarding

All the Best, Joseph

An extraordinary image, Josef - truly inspiring!
I like the "fly-over" perspective, it's just a stunning view!

I probably have to underline this location in red on my list!

All the best!

OK Harald,
Come on, we can go up there. We'll drive Nevada end to end in a few hours, its not called the "Bullet" for nothing

When I took that picture most of the folks had already gone for the day. Those who were still there, I can almost guarantee will never ever, forget those moments, Sunset on the Island in the Sky. They were in awe, just like me

All the Best, your Bodie Buddy_____Josef

You’ve steered cleAr of Utah? I think an argument could easily be made that it is the most amazing state in the lower 48. Actually if I had to pick the most amazing state in the lower 48 it would be Utah. Glad your seeing it now
