Beautiful shots Joe. The reflex lens is IMHO one of the most under appreciated lens.

Thanks Charles and Fred.
I love the Minolta 500mm f8 AF Reflex for its lightness, compactness and image quality. You need to use it with the knowledge that it has its optical quirks, but in good light and with clean background it's just such a pleasure to use. So easy for me to get about with a walkabout zoom or short prime plus this lens as a convenient combo that gives me extreme telephoto reach when I want it, without sagging under the hefty weight of an equivalent optical lens.
Plus you can get good used specimens nowadays for a very reasonable price.
A real testament to the technical and optical brilliance that was "The Mind of Minolta".

Those last two sets of posts are spectacular. Wonder what's been happening meteorologically or atmospherically in the USA to have created such vivid effects? Volcanic eruptions? Dust storms? Wild fires?
