   A loooong time since I posted anything now! We are up the Sunshine Coast visiting my wife's aunt and I went for a drive west to find some dark skies. As you can see even one hour inland from the coast there is still some light pollution. Shot with A7II and Samyang 14/2.8.

	Even with the light pollution, that's a beautiful milky way shot !

	Thanks guys! It was a very (for Queensland at least) cold 2 degrees centigrade and google maps actually got me confused and I ended up not going to my primary location which had much less light pollution. Happy with this shot anyway and I have a few more I'm going to process now that I'm back home again.

	Nice All those palmtrees and 2 degrees, false advertising I tell you Got a spot singled out here where one of the wife's workmates has a small cabin that I've got to try out one of these days. Should be very little light pollution with the nearest little town atleast 40km away.

	Great shot, I think the light pollution actually adds to it.
	I detest bugs, especially spiders.

	My family pioneered on the Sunshine Coast and are still there and I remember back around 1982, it was the coldest winter on record for the region. The family farm is about 12miles south of Caloundra at Coochin Creek and we had sleet there in the middle of the day and the mercury rose to a staggering 1°. Ofcourse working on the farm at the time, it was a matter of putting on a raincoat to keep the breeze off and a few layers of clothing underneath to stay worm, though the staying warm part didnt work too well especially seeing we were not used to having such low temperatures and such warm clothing was mostly not necessary. At the time I had friends who lived in Caloundra and were going up to the range and skiing for a week as there were a few areas that had enough snow to claim a snow field. So the area can get cold, it just doesnt happen all that often, although temperatures below zero does occur regularly almost every winter in some places, not normal to get snow or sleet though.

	Nice shot Pyl love that myriad of stars and the foreground interest compliments the shot well. I tend to lean towards less purple in my Milky Way shots but that is a personal preference. Not sure about the timing on your side of the country but it's always better to get the core central to the frame for me although this isn't an easy task and does require the correct timing which may not be practical if it rises before all the remnants of daylight have left the sky. As for the light pollution I don't think that is too much of an issue on this shot and our friends in the Northern Hemisphere would be very jealous at the lack of it. Not sure if you use the Photographers Ephemeris app at all but it has a nifty little light pollution overlay which can be handy for finding "dark" skies. Anyway very nice work and TFS.

	Very nice milky way and while I would also like to see a less colourful Sky this is mightily impressive and attractive. Very cool despite the light pollution, which also I think spoils the trees just a little bit.

	Really like the new processing I think. The light pollution looks a bit nicer and so do the colours all around. Very, very cool. What about a square crop for the thrid one? Not that I don't like it as-is.

	Thanks again guys! It really is amazing to look up at the night sky and see thousands of stars. The Milky Way contains hundreds of millions of stars and is one out of billions of galaxies. Sort of brings our squabbling about dynamic range and ISO into perspective, doesn't it?`
