Looks like a good start - my favourite from Day 1 (so far) is Howard's 'Boathouse' I always enjoy this sort of abstract architecture shot.
For me it was a first in another way - my first SR shoot. I have to say it is with more than a little relief that I found a shot that I wasn't too embarrassed to post. Mind you, I'm not that easily embarrassed. |

Neil you are not the only person to hate thumbnails LOLOL
Looks correct from what I see, but you must have an extra/missing ] or / or space somewhere.... Lots of good geometry today |

The first challenge for me is always remembering how to post thumbnails, I have to fudge around but eventually I figure it out!
Nice start so far, I like fennetja "devils tower", the most interesting stump photo I've seen and I like those sparkles in the fg, not seen those before. |

Hi Simon, glad you like it. The little sparkles are probably the early sunlight on some frosted leaves. A productive monday morning

Snegren - Beautiful textures of the stairs and their shadows, anchored in the frame by the vertical post. Howard_S - Strong rectangular forms dominate this bold composition. bigsi - The curve of the step picks up your gaze and sweeps you through tho the viaducts and beyond. Great framing! waldo_posth - Crisp focus and highly technical lighting bring the subjects to life. 4paul - The tight crop on the subject and intersecting lines make an interesting shot. |

Day 2
mariuszlo - The warm yellow and red colours against the cooler blue background make a striking image. andy landzaat - The quirky lighting and framing work well here to draw the viewer in to the image. pegelli - Great use of silhouette and framing of the star against the ground - just lovely! darosa - I feel like i'm looking at a painting and not a digital image with all the organic curves. alpha_in_exile - I don't know what this is but I love the sinister way it jumps into focus. |

New camera, new lens - what could go wrong? In my case focus - but I did a lot better today, setting the IBIS up properly might have helped ..
I have to say that, when I get it right, the 50mm f2 produces some very sharp images for what I assume was a pretty basic kit lens. |

Phil, I still forget to adjust the IBIS setting and for the 58mm lens I had to use 60mm, the nearest alternative. I suspect it doesn't make much difference .. my shots today with a 50mm lens still had the 60mm setting
My favourite is the 45mm F2 - very compact and very sharp, a joy to use. I have a 50mm F2 and I might make that my seventh Rokkor if I don't find my wide angle lenses. Fortunately a friend has loaned me a 17mm F4 rectilinear Rokkor, and I'm looking forward to using that. |

60 and 50mm are probably much the same to the IBIS; my early 50 and all 135mm shots had IBIS set to 8mm! Which makes me wonder why? Presumably it doesn't default to such an outlandish FL? My guess is that the previous owner had an MF fisheye.
I shall try the 135 again today - with IBIS set properly. |

Hmm, that will spoil the 2nd hand market for Rokkors |
