Let's thank Howard for starting the thread

I like the Malta one, the British influence is still very present it seems.

And Howard, I like your selfie in "detail 2"

Oops, totally overlooked page 1
Thanks Howard!
Indeed the British influence was pretty clear in Malta, many phone boxes there.

Thanks, guys!

Malta achieved independence in 1964 and had been part of the Empire since the early C19, the Brits taking over from oppressive French rule. Malta is still a member of the Commonwealth - I imagine their phone boxes were imported from Britain in the early C20.

Back on topic, three shots of a North Uist phone box:

Now renovated, according to Google Street View here.

How weird that the OP can't post to their own thread - why's that? Is it the Google link? Hope that can be fixed soon.

Phil, I cheated after I saw the icon and looked on Google Maps - very swish. Hope you post the revealing view soom.

Exactly, not all goo.gl links are safe, so they have to be manually checked before the post shows. All safe and fixed now

The way it works is that it just looks for the string "goo.gl", irrespective if it's in a link or just text.

So I had to approve my previous post as well as this one manually
