I picked up an almost new FE 100-400mm and went for a firSt walk in the neighbourhood with it today.
So far so good I would say. Pretty happy with the first results, both tele and close up shots. I also like to be able to work in 'stealth mode' with the AF being so quiet and fast! #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 #7 #8 #9 #10 #11 All with A7IV, some cropped |

Nice set of shots , and I must say I'm impressed with the close focus shots .
Are these how they were taken or heavily cropped ? |

The close focus ability of the 100-400 is its best feature. I use it as a defacto macro all the time. Fast at with dual motors is its second best attribute. It’s funny even after I picked up the 200-600 I kept the 100-400. Nice images. Enjoy the new lens

Great series Fred, I have recently acquired a Sony 100-400 GM and also have been impressed with its versatility.
