I picked up an almost new FE 100-400mm and went for a firSt walk in the neighbourhood with it today.

So far so good I would say. Pretty happy with the first results, both tele and close up shots. I also like to be able to work in 'stealth mode' with the AF being so quiet and fast!

The close focus ability of the 100-400 is its best feature. I use it as a defacto macro all the time. Fast at with dual motors is its second best attribute. It’s funny even after I picked up the 200-600 I kept the 100-400. Nice images. Enjoy the new lens

The latest Sony toys, both cameras and optics, are most impressive, and especially so in capable hands. Here's the proof.

Thanks all!

@neilt3: #5 and 6 are heavily cropped (to approx 20%), but still amazing detail
