That is a question that go's far and deep in my Photographic life.

It's hard for me to reveal it.

I have a secret ASSD in my A99 and that stands for:
Automatic Subject Seeking Device.
I see a cursor in the viewfinder based on a algoritme from Sheldon Cooper the famous physicist from the Big Bang Theory.

And that does it.

I have it with any lens so it's not the STF.

And an other secret down the drain Willem.
All ways in a good mood here.

Media archivist - number 2 for me. Very STF and that green colour is fine.

Macca - Japonica 2 stands out for the compo and Pink Thingies 1 for the same reason (and that great colour)

Cal-treasurer - no shame in posting STF flower shots. It works well and might benefit from a square crop(?)

Wallendo - nice bit of leaf peeping . Number 2 works best for me, a nice simple compo.

John925 - the orchid is outstanding. Very dreamy and an unusual viewpoint. The light is great in 9/10 too.

Willem your secret is out.   Does it work in the same way as Auto Portrait Framing? You might be onto something that you could sell to Sony...

Wow - I do NOT need more camera gear ... but Day 135 is an advert for STF and Zeiss if there ever was one!!!

Oops! Forgot about Day Prime, and forgot I actually have a 135!

MD 135/2.8 + 3 extension tubes, which takes minimum focus distance from 2 feet from the front element down to 1 foot - less effect than I thought.
The lens has a few issues, you can see a flare circle in the middle of the best lens cap design ever.
nex7 = camera jpegs

wine glass - bubbles are in the thick glass

fill it to the rim - with beer!

best lens cap design ever!!!

Now I really am out of Day Prime until zoom ends 200/210
Repeat: I do NOT need new gear!

A quick selection of shots from the office - nothing quite like showing off how the focus peaking works, to get a couple of portraits

All NEX-5N with Leica Elmarit 135mm f2.8 'de-goggled' (sorry again Leo)

135a Haunting Music

135b Oliver

135c Shaon

It was really nice here on Day 135, and it was (past) time for the baby's 11 month photos, so I took care of two birds with one stone.

All taken with a900 and Minolta 135/2.8.

Ivy at 11 months

She wasn't in a very smiley mood - this was as good as it got.

The older girls decided they wanted in on the action, too. They were messy from running around and playing but I don't say no when they actually want me to take a photo!

I think you just missed focus. That´s what happens when you take the goggles off, Tim. These Leica lenses are very sensitive.

Leo, Mikey thanks for the comments. Day 135 is like 50, fun as there are few bad lens as shown by the many good shots here.

Willem nice to see you have added the STF to your already impressive armoury, you use it very well especially the rose and the tap

Leo thats a beautiful OOF colour transition in 1. but the bokeh in 4 is special ,painterly as they say.

Thanks Macca. I was pleasantly surpised by the bokeh of the waves in the background; it's almost as if it's a long exposure shot.

Some more Day 135 bokeh, same camera, same lens, wide open; but, apart from the bokeh, nothing soft here:

6 Yellow leading to blue

7 No entry for red; yellow allowed

8 Nuts

Thanks Leo!

Day 135 is always one of my favorites and this year did not disappoint. Some fantastic images have been posted! Doesn't help my yearning for the STF at all.

What are your thoughts on day 140 Leo?

(The 100mm+1.4tc was a legitimate combination that I used for a couple of hundred shots in Poland - then again it is a Monday )
