The Day Prime Challenge 2014

The challenge is to use as many of your lenses as possible in 2014


The idea of this challenge is inspired by Week 50, in which participants shoot with a 50mm lens for the 50th week of the year. The Day Prime Challenge is for members to post pictures taken on the appropriate day for their lens - hence shots with a 16mm taken on 16 January, 28mm on 28 January and so on (after January it becomes more difficult but see the next post). It is called a challenge, but it's very easy going:

Rules:

You can use any prime lens you like
You can use any zoom lens you like, but you can only use the zoom ends
Adapters and converters that change the FL of the lens are not allowed except for teleconverters for FLs of 200mm and more
You are free to use A-mount and E-mount cameras
You can post as many photos as you like on the the appropriate day
You can only post the photos that were taken on that day
Minimal cropping is allowed, but the photo should reflect the focal length of the lens
Have fun!

Further notes:
Please add EXIF data: camera used, lens used, aperture, exposure, iso
You don't have to sign up: just post your photos on the appropriate day
You can't drop out of this challenge: you decide on the days you want to participate: the challenge is to participate on as many days as you can
It would be nice if you post your better shots also in the Sample Images subforum(for A- and E-mount lenses) or go here for samples with non-native lenses


There are 3 threads in Day Prime Challenge:

- this thread is for photos and talk (commenting on each other's contributions is encouraged and appreciated)
- a thread for the Thumbnails that all participants can (and are encouraged to) post of their photos linked to the posts containing big versions
- and a thread for outtakes aka The Training Centre


This challenge is for everyone! Everyone will learn something and everyone can enjoy it.
If you have not joined before and do not fully understand the guidelines, do not worry. Just start posting and ask as many questions as you want.

I think it's pretty exhaustive but please let me know if I missed a day!

Please study the list carefully (don't forget your zoom ends like I always do ...) and make a note of the days you are going to participate.

The 'Page' column gives the page numbers where you can find the contributions of the Day Prime Day in question (look for the RED Day numbers).

For 2013, I bought several lenses after their corresponding day(s). So I am looking forward to using my 15, 28, and 85mm for 2014!

2013 is not a leap year, so 365 days. 400 is then day 35, 500 is then 135.

Might there be any chance of adding a day 57 for those of us with (for example) a Konica Hexanon AR 57 1.4 or 1.2?

To clarify, 400mm = day 35 = 4 February 2014, and 500mm = day 135 = 15 May 2014.
Or do 400mm and 500mm tip into next year 2015?
And what about those owning a 600mm?

Yes, day 400 and 500 for 2013 challenge is on 35th and 135th day of 2014. Day 400 and 500 for 2014 challenge will be in 2015. Sound confusing a bit

I`m in again Leo. Almost had you adding a day 350mm but narrowly missed out on a Vernon Edonar ( old Tamron I think) 350mm 5.5 before the holidays.I`m going to make more effort to comment this year and nice to see day 25 is a Saturday!

And yes the days seem to be favourable this year. Only a few Mondays!

The first Day is this Saturday. I hope we'll see someone contributing this year with the Sigma 4.5/2.8 Fish.
