Here's a list of Part One of Day Prime 2016.
It's a long list but more DPDs are always welcome so please let me know if I missed a day! Please study the list carefully (don't forget your zoom ends like I always do ...) and make a note of the days you are going to participate. The 'Page' column gives the page numbers where you can find the contributions of the Day Prime Day in question (look for the RED Day numbers).

Hooray!
Day Prime Lives! I've got a few new additions this year. (New to my entry, not new days for Day Prime) Day 16 E-mount 16-50 kit lens Day 37 Mir 1B Day 43 Nikkor zoom (courtesy penndragonn2001) Day 86 "" Plus (nearly) everything from last year. I've shifted some lenses, so I may have lost a day or two, but I can't think of any right now. |

Very good thornburg!
Will Day 13 be your first Day? I scored a few new Days too: 26, 39, 41, 59; and maybe one or two more. |

And here we go again:
Tomorrow is Monday January 4 aka Day 4. AFAIK the only lens for this Day is the Sigma fish 4,5mm. Being in between Day 4 and Day 5, the lens can also be used on Day 5. Here's last year's post. |

I scored a lot of extra primes last year for this challenge and will therefore refrain from zoom ends this year.
So 16 will be my first day, but then 17, 20, 21, 24, 28, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 53, 55, 58, 85, 90, 100, 105, 135, 150, 180 and 200. Let's keep our fingers crossed for good light in January and February, which is more then half of my prime days. |

I don't know what i'm get in to the 2015 prime challenge. Kinda hard to keep shooting/tracking each different focal lengths. (I know that is heart of challenge but.....)
Entering 2016 Day prime is scary. .................My first day is 8mm following 12, 14. 15....... Edited by Hiro - 03 January 2016 at 23:31 |

I'm envious. My collection is pretty good, but I'm missing several days you have. I think my whole total is: Primes Only: 13, 24, 28, 35, 37, 45, 50, 52, 55, 70, 85, 90, 100, 135, 200 Zoom ends add: 16, 18, 43, 75, 86, 105, 210, 300 I realized I've lost Day 20. I sold my Tokina 20-35 a few years back, and sold my Sigma 20mm f/1.8 not long ago, but I haven't yet picked up the Tamron 20-40 I intended to replace it with. |

Excellent - I haven't done this for a couple of years, and I have some new-to-me days & lenses, including days 37 and 85.
My Helios 44 is a 58mm lens ... so why are May 21 & 22 a Helios 44 weekend? |

Ive added a day 21, 40 and 90 to last years so am in again, plus some new additions for day 85, which is always my sons birthday, day 135 and 50.
I`ve lost my day 24 and know of a cheapish Minolta 24mm 2.8 MD but it`s still not cheap enough to get my buying for one day and I`ve enough wides as is.....however depending how sales go, you never know. I rarely get time to shoot well on them all but will try Leo`s wide open challenge on a few when I can. |

A lot of additions in the lens collection but only a few new days and I dropped day 260 into the the bin (hazy, mechanically unsound, generally unsuitable). I cannot start before day 16, but then it gets rather busy with days 20, 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, 35, 40, 50, 55, 58. It then starts tapering off with days 70, 75, 80, 85, 100, 105, 120, 135, 140, 180, 200, 250, 300, 400. I just hope I don't get troubled by business travel so much like last year. My business trips tend to be all work and no play, it adds to the complexity of getting images on the day but on the other side gives fresh venues/views.
In the mean time I'll be hunting for new days/lenses as the new year brings new budget and a less guilty conscience. Edited by Snegren - 04 January 2016 at 20:48 |
