A side view would be nice. May make it easier to confirm as the EVF has a unique shape to it.

If you compare these two pics with the pic published by SAR, showing a77 and a65, this could be the a65 with BG.

Sony already has the video professional, no?
This camera is more about still photogs stepping out to video. The NEX vidcams are probably a better choice for video pros stepping out to still photography. There is a slightly-off presentation by some of Sony's videocam designers talking about choices in the NEX vidcams. They compared things more to Canon SLR-cum-vidcam technology, but they were very informative about the issues for someone based in vidcam technology. |

Looks very good, I love the size. The smooth lines remind me a bit of the 7xi/9xi but with a nice evolutionary UI. Control placement looks very good. It's nice to see that the line from the Maxxum 600si - 7 - Sony A100 - A700/900 is being continued. I can't wait to play with one.

It doesn't look to me like it has a popup flash
![]() I really hope that's either an illusion of the photograph, or that they tucked it away almost seamlessly Or alternatively that these are fake! Edited by tigertimb - 13 July 2011 at 16:06 |

I presume this image came from "SonyAlphaRumors.com"? FWIW -- they still have it up, but after further research they believe it to be faked. |

I think it started on Dyxum and went to SAR. They give a credit to Dyxum in their post, but are also claiming it as a fake.

These images were posted here first then copied by SAR.
Compare the vertical grip with the model shown at CES: http://www.photographybay.com/2011/01/07/sony-a700-successor-on-display-at-ces-2011/#more-16898 Same dimensions. Edited by whtchocla7e - 13 July 2011 at 16:31 |

I hope the vertical grip is fake because it is much too high to my liking, half the height would be ample

This looks exactly like the transparent mockup from months ago. There's really nothing about it that says fake, to me. Also, some people on dpreview threw in some real Sony product shots into the jpeg tester that sonyalpharumors used, and it said they were fake, too. Lol.
I think what we have here, ladies and gentlemen, is your A77. |

If it's for real then it would seem that SSS and metering mode will require some menu-diving. Unfortunate, IMO.
