Wow, I can't complain about the level of interest for this post, Thank you all for the kind words and feedback. Much appreciated!

@ waldo_posth: A petty indeed I didn't catch them flying. Also dissapointed that I didn't have a chance to meet the aliens

@ snegren: in fact it is not my town, but the next town (Alkmaar), but nearby fortunately.

@ Phil Wood: I was thinking about that and may give it a try. At the other hand, I also liked this element. It was impossible to leave it out of the frame on this symetric view.

@ owenno1: The lights in the back were a industrial site. Difficult to avoid in the frame.

@skm.sa100: Your feedback is appreciated. We can only learn from it.
I had noticed the spot a while ago and had been waiting for a suitable time slot around the blue hour with calm and clear weather. Sunday appeared to be a good day finally.
I will give it a go with some of your crop suggestions.
The tilting was a big challenge. Although I had my camera levelled horizontally, I took some of the shots from a lower point of view to enhance the perspective. Some corrections in PP for the verticals became a real pain. A tilt shift lens might have helped, but that is still missing in my collection.

Thanks again all!

Superior set for sure! My preferred image is #7, but they are all very good.
As I live in Noord-Holland too, can I ask where this site is located?

Hello Fred;
Well here's my 2 cents. Very well photographed
If I wanted to endear myself to a neighborhood I don't think I would be creating something alien as these. To me they seem more off putting than welcoming. I'm not sure what kind of area they would go well
Anyway what happens to them when it rains?
I'm a fan they are beautiful but Where?
Nice work_______Coast

Well Joseph, you may have hit the nail on the head with your 2 cents, although it is all a matter of taste of course.
They must have struggled with that when they built it.
Although it is only 2 kilometers as the crows fly from my home, we would call its location almost 'in the middle of nowhere' in our densely populated country. I know in the US this can have a completely different meaning. If you don't know it's there, you won't notice. It's located at a dead end street in a (light) industrial area. You can't see it from any ongoing main road. At one side the view on it is blocked by a landfill area.
So a well hidden gem, not meant to attract anyone haha. Since not many cars are fuelled by LNG (natural liquid gas) yet, there aren't many customers either (saw nobody in the 30 minutes I spent there), but they are ready for the future (and space ships ).
Cheers
Fred

What an amazing LNG station! First reaction is that they must be making excessive profits from their sales.
Anyway, it makes for a striking set of images, and you've really created some that are very beautiful. I'm particularly taken by ##2, 3 and 5.
As for Alkmaar, that name rings a bell as I visited it 40 years ago on my first grand tour of Europe, guided by Frommer's "Europe of $5 a day" as the site of the colourful ancient cheese market with the rounds of Gouda and Edam portered around on wooden sleds.
TFS.

brilliant!!! ET phone home indeed...
and to shoot these in the dark is brilliant too, the black + blue is just right!
-what it boils down to, I guess, is that you made us all envious?
we want space stations too! -
(why would you want to use tilt-shift on this? you have one, it's your lensbaby? IMHO it's the ultimate WA subject? i.e. the more that shows, the more I love them! and I love them!).

Joe- $5-a-day? luckily you must have missed the dreaded Keukenhof then. (although I've never been there ).
IMHO the endless tulip fields are much nicer, from land or water. as Fred is about to show us in his city thread about the Alkmaar area ...some day? can't wait!
(in Gouda they have sleds too btw. once a week during the warmer season).

Thanks Joe! The cheese market is still there on Friday during the summer season.
