Ahoy!

I've PM'd the OP and asked whether the Dynax/Maxxum 5D/7D MRW or JPEG files will work with the shutter count tool.

Probably not:
The following lists the ShutterCount/ImageCount info as provided by ExifTool,
and I don't think the Shutter Count tool can provide anything more:

As far as known, the following models do NOT provide ShutterCount info in their JPG, MRW or ARW files:
Minolta 7D and 5D
DSLR-A100
DSLR-A700
DSLR-A200/A300/A350

For the following models, Exiftool provides ShutterCount and/or ImageCount:
DSLR-A900/A850
DSLR-A230/A290/A330/A380/A390
DSLR-A450/A500/A550
DSLR-A560/A580

SLT-A33/A35/A55V
SLT-A37/A57/A58/A65V/A77V/A99V
ILCA-77M2

NEX-3/C3/5/5C/VG10E
NEX-F3/3N/5N/5R/5T/6/7/VG20E/VG30E/VG900
ILCE-3000/3500/5000/5100/6000/7/7M2/7R/7S/QX1

Probably not...

There is no evidence that the 5D or 7D store a shutter count in image file EXIF.

The 5D stores the count in-camera, but the 7D does not.

Ahoy!

Did you upload an unaltered uncropped image file and/or have you since tried another image file and if so, did you get the info?

Is there a way to reset the count?

The SLT-A65V I just bought is only showing 640 shutters. :)

No, not by mere mortals. Maybe not even by Sony technician gods.

I just checked an A900 that I got as a backup. This tool and another both showed the 12K+ number identically. This camera is so clean I didn't think it could be that high. (Not high enough to worry about though, it probably came from one of you!    )
Just luvin' DYXUM.
