Burning the Fields

Auckland is still locked down and trying to eliminate COVID Delta. Announcement due from the Prime Minister on continuation or a drop to level 3. In the meantime, I'm confined and browsing history.
This was shot many years ago when we lived in Kempston, Bedford, UK. Girlfriend and I used to ride all over the place on our 10 speed bikes and would always take shortcuts through farms if they looked promising.
We saw the smoke of the burn off from miles away and, when we got in close, there was so much smoke it seemed almost twilight.

The Tradition of Fire by Michael J Breen, on Flickr

Shot with a Nikon EM film camera and 24mm Tokina lens.
