Photos of a beautiful place
You placed them in a small format. Maybe you can increase the size a bit

I like the silhouette in the first shot best
The town square shot shows lots of interesting buildings

Hey Dopol! Very glad that you liked my pictures. I photographed the chapel silhouette against the afternoon sun. I would like to upload photos larger, but have not yet figured out how to do it. Thank you again!

Thanks Dalibor, we are working on that. In the beginning i thought Dubrovnic was maybe the name in Serg's own language.

My posts from my recent travels through the Balkan states are partly in "Open Views" under their descriptive headings, and partly here in "Show Us Cities..."
These are images taken in the wonderful walled coastal city of Dubrovnik. An independent nation/state that rivalled Venice in the middle ages, and maintained its independence through clever treaties, diplomacies, pacts and pay-offs to powerful allies or rivals over the centuries. Badly damaged by artillery bombardment during the 1990s Balkans Wars (even though it had no strategic importance), it has been meticulously restored under UNESCO patronage. The photos showing the rooftops are a give-away - the bright orange terra cotta tiles are new replacements of roofs that had been destroyed by shelling.

I'll post in bunches of up to 10 images to keep the files sizes and opening times manageable.
First lot are from a walk around the city walls.

All a99 and CZ24-70mm ZA. EXIF embedded. C&C welcome.

Continuing on, and last instalment from me.
Same camera gear, except that the last image is taken using a SAL70200 SSM G.

27. Second oldest (after the AltNeu Shul in Prague) continuously operational synagogue in Europe. There was a vibrant Jewish Community in Dubrovnik, with a large number made up of those who re-settled here after the expulsion from Spain in 1492. The remnant that survived the Holocaust is slowly re-building.
