You are making me homesick, Waldo! Very nice shots! I lived in the Heidelberg area from 1955 to 1979 and again 1981 to 1985. I had close friends that studied physics at Heidelberg University!

Regards,

Kelly

Untere Strasse. Our band played here for Heidelberger Hebst! You wouldn't believe it from this photo, but it was kind of danerouse in this little Gasse during Heidelberger Hebst! People packed like sardines! I have an old black and white somewhere. I'll try to locate and post.

Beautiful set, of a very beautiful University town. I first went there in 1970 on an extended tourist visit when my late father in law lived in a small town nearby, and loved its character and beauty, the ruins of the Schloss, the ancient stone bridge, the Philosophers' Walk in the woods above the Neckar, and the liveliness that comes with being a campus town.
Somewhere I have 35 mm Ektachrome slides taken with my Minolta SRT101 and Rokkor 50mm f1.4 lens, and this set might be a good reason to seek them out.
Looking forward to seeing more.

Hi Kelly!
Well, I lived there from 1976 to 1981 to earn a first degree and then continued my studies in the U.S. to eventually come back in the late 1980s to get my PhD at Heidelberg. So I am pretty sure we passed each other some time in the past walking up (or down) Hauptstrasse!
All the best!

Hauptstrasse

I have so many images of Heidelberg from my film days - I might even have some scans, but so far I have not been lucky to find them.

My search brought up some of my old film images - here is the Hauptstrasse again (after the rain):

More very nice images! I like Hauptstrasse #2 and the Uni Staircase! When I met my wife, she was living in a small apartment on the top floor of a building on the Hauptstrasse near Dr. Flotte (one of her favorite smoke-filled hang-outs). What was your vantage point when you took this one?

Regards,

Kelly
