Thanks Chris. A pleasant surprise for me as well. F/8 definitely better than F/5.5, Not easy to operate, as the focussing helicoid takes forever to unwind and finding focus is not easy. Would not recommend this Telemegor for birding! B.t.w. the shorter Telemegors are also very nice.

Another Minolta 100-400 apo, I brought out my a700 for the occasion. And I'd arranged ahead of time with a giant flock of cranes in Cibola Wildlife Refuge to have them show their best feathers for Day 400 ... but judging from the distance they kept they obviously misunderstood and thought this was Day 4000 instead!

Totally missed Day 300.
I'll see what I can do; maybe an outtake session.

Glad to see Hiro and Paul posting.

Paul: a surprising 300 from you!

Taken on day 301 due to a lack of planning, but this being a liberal thread I decided to post it here instead of in the outtakes thread. Minimum focal distance is a whopping 5.5 meters but extension tubes came to the rescue.

Coneflower Field

Camera Model: ILCE-7
Lens: SMC Takumar 4/300

But thanks to Day Prime Challenge I have chance to try again (Last time I shoot Nikkor-P 300mm is 1970s with Nikon F ). I get a few good images.
