a beautiful very old city in italy that perhaps deserves a place among the cities of the world topic. I spent about half a day wandering in the historical center as I waited for the time to pass until a couple of friends arrived at bologna airport in the afternoon, and I was impressed by the colonnaded streets - so different from other cities I visited. #1 early morning - piazza san domenico ![]() #2 piazza maggiore ( and I think pallazzo re enzo) ![]() #3 neptune fountain ![]() #4 same guy, piazza maggiore ![]() #5 sprinklers ![]() #6 commercial streets ![]() #7 vegetables ![]() #8 somewhere in the vicinity of the university ![]() #9 colonnades ![]() #10 streets of bologna ![]() #11 locomotion ![]() #12 . . . ![]() #13 still about locomotion ![]() #14 famous landmarks - due torri ![]() #15 street crossing at due torri ![]() #16 no cars allowed ![]() #17 morning press in the piazzetta ![]() #18 leaving for the airport, same neptune guy, this time in sunshine ![]() Edited by Micholand - 19 July 2016 at 18:30 |

Very nice shots. And I agree with you, the city is beautiful & a treat to walk around and take photos. Maybe I'll add a few pictures from 2008.
You didn't get to go up one of the old towers? Edited by Winwalloe - 19 July 2016 at 16:22 |

I guess it wasn't open early in the day!
Here a some photos I took up there. The raw files aren't very good to start with so the conversion is how I could manage... ![]() ![]() ![]() |
