Most likely it is a Black Racer. They are good at catching rats. Harmless to you.

I met such a snake during a bike ride in upstate New York.
I don't know what kind of snake it is.

Baby gators with mom. I counted sixteen total. Hatched one week ago. They will stay with the mother for a year but only one or two lucky ones will probably survive.

Great pictures of a very dangerous animal! I read that this snake is very fast.
