There are three versions of this lens:
  1. 1973: MC Rokkor(-X) PF 50mm F2 | Style: MC-X
  2. 1977: MD Rokkor(-X) 50mm F2 | Style: MDI
  3. 1981: MD 50mm F2 | Style: MDIII

Here are some photos I made with the Minolta MD 50mm 1:2 lens on my Sony Nex 3N with a cheap nameless adapter bought on a Chinese website.
I must say I like the lens more than the Minolta AF 50mm 1:1.7

Beautiful pictures, many thanks for sharing them

I also have the 50/2 MD and I like it a lot. It is a lightweight and small lens that delivers surprisingly good image quality. sharpness is very good with little deterioriation to the edges, bokeh is great and even CAs are not bad. Flares are a problem, but contrast and colours are great. A gem!

Yes it's a great lens and you can buy it for the price of a crate of beer. Lens flare can be a problem, see the photo below but I will take that for 12.50 euro what I payed for it.
