Time to open the thread!

And now some moon closeups...

The first two were taken with my A6000 mounted directly on the telescope, shooting about 30 raws to stack. No cropping except for trimming the stacking errors

Copernicus Crater 27-Nov-2017

Clavius 27 Nov 2017

The next two, taken a day later but with my mini-ccd camera (about 1mpx) about 600 frames stacked then 'drizzled' to enlarge by 1.5x. OK, it's not a Sony camera but I believe it's a Sony sensor in there :-)

I used a cheapo (£10) 2x lens for this one:

No 2x lens for this last one. I think it's a little clearer.

So it seems to me that a 1.2mpix, 5mm wide hi-speed sensor beats a 24mpix APS-C for lunar close ups :-)

    Thanks Mike and Steve. :)

Have an A77ii again (at least ofr a short while)

One from last night at 93% humidity. Seeing conditions not great.

Having an issue with ghosting on parts of the moon's edge in my stacks - probably due to the turbulance.... so just a piece to share today. lol

Nice Shot, especially under difficult circumstances!

Oh, and please feel free to send some of that moisture my direction. Here in southern California we could definitely use some...
        Later,

        Jerry.

Hoping for some clear nights soon!...

In the mean time, I dug through my stuff from last year and found this one I never pposted I don't think... at least it never made it to my Flickr page till now anyway.

This one is a freshly processed stack and composition.
