Are we going to have new polls for primary and backup cameras as of January(ish) 2019?

Still gettin to get more of a feeling with my new (june 2018) A7iii. Love the IQ of the pics coming out of this camera. In lightroom you can realy go any way with these files, crazy!
The big but for me is the size factor. Compaired to the 1th gen A7 the camera got so heavy (the bigger size i can live with)

I use 2 AF lenses FE2/28 & 1.8/85 (20% of my shots in 2018). All other lenses are manual focus (80% of my shots in 2018))

I'm a rare bird here. I shoot my NEX-6 the most, for "everyday" shooting, then my A77ii is more the "backup". I prefer the smaller form factor for my walk around shots, but when I shoot sports, I grab the A77ii because I prefer the ergonomics.

I'm at the point where modern cameras are very good and don't upgrade until something breaks. I still shoot my NEX-3 from time to time, launched in 2010!

I'm not sure if I will go full-frame digital. I like the idea, but don't necessarily want the bigger bodies and lenses. I really want the A6500. I really wish Sony launched an A88 though.

Nowadays, when I want to go full frame, I grab a film body. I probably shoot a roll every two or three months. I really enjoy the "slow photography" process. I take so much more care when shooting film since it's at least $1 a shot ... film price + processing.

Obviously the results of this poll are not going to precisely match with sales percentages, but I found it interesting that Premium SLT/Full Frame SLT made up 50% of the results, while ILCE only made up just over 30%

Either the Alpha mount crowd is representing overly heavy here on Dyxum, or E-mounts aren't blowing A-mount out of the water lately like we're lead to believe. This strikes me as quite interesting, considering the E-Mount started being pushed around the same time that all the earliest Premium SLT/Full Frame SLT cameras came out...

I respect and love the innovation that has been coming from Sony since it's adoption/absorption of the Minolta legacy, and the E-mount definitely has some interesting things to offer. I just hope polls like these are representative of the love that people still have for the Alpha-mount, and that Sony continues to provide updates/innovations for both mounts.

More than the new kid on the block factor - if that explained the results I'd expect to see E-mount on the podium at least once.

I sold my A5000, so I am back primarily in A-mount camp with the A68 at least temporarily.

The little A5000 is still my main camera. It is currently in my inner coat pocket with the Sigma 60 F2.8 Art on it. I actually get quite good battery life with it. That's one reason not to replace it with a higher end model. I do miss the A58 battery life. The A68 does seem to last longer than the A65.

I haven't gotten used to the A68 controls yet. I wish it matched the A58/A65/A5000 controls more. Three of the thumb wheel directional clicks aren't able to be used. I find the A5000 easier to control even without the Fn button/menu. I am not a fan of the new customizable Fn menu either. Sony UI is getting worse.

I have an A58, A900, and a 5D, plus lots of film cameras. The s/h A900 I got last year cost a lot more than the new A58 did in 2014, which replaced an A390 that was stolen.
Of all these cameras the A58 is by the far the most used, and the most useful. I like the A900 and want to use it more, but (slightly disappointingly) there are too many things the cheaper A58 does as well or much better, eg:

- smaller, lighter, and fits in bags where the A900 doesn't.
- much more battery life (at least 3x)
- EVF shows setting effect in real time
- focus peaking and magnify for MF lenses
- digital zoom which is useful on prime lenses (I like framing my pics as I take them)
- tilting LCD for low/high viewpoints
- built-in flash
- better low-light performance/sensitivity (but same DR)
- has natural ISO100, useful for fast lenses.
- takes SD cards (okay, so does the A900 with an adapter)
- quieter shutter with EFCS
- makes a good partner with the dinky DT lenses.
Miranda F & Sensorex, Sony A58, Nex-6, Dynax 4, 5, 60, 500si/600si/700si/800si, various Sony & Minolta lenses, several Tamrons, lots of MF primes and *far* too many old film cameras . . .

With most of my photography being landscapes and seascapes at the moment, I'm almost always shooting with an A7r on a tripod. That's made the move to an IBIS body less compelling, and 42MP isn't a significant jump from 36,
