#22 is #1 - fantastic shot in every way - light, composition, tells a story, great shadow/subject - even the manholes are in the right place and add a bit of interest by mimicking the circles of the bike wheels. Only a very little nit pick - maybe eliminate that bright light on the upper left edge.

#22 is an absolute rocker, for sure. Just awesome.
The sunset shot is serene and calming.

How did you fare with shooting street pics in China? I have a sense of an oppressive government so wondering if police harassed you or something.

Another most interesting set, of which ##5, 17 and 22 are my favourites.
A bit surprised you were able to focus in on the police, but I suppose it varies depending on the location and how relaxed things are at that place.
TFS.

Hi,

Roger Rex,
Nordlicht,
C_N_RED_AGAIN,
skm.sa100,
Jozioau,

Thanks for your comments. Few replies:

Yes #22 is a kind of special one. I made 5 shots, first 3 there was no
bicycle. The guy came in a little later. Shots were taken from "pavement" bridge over the street crossing. So I was lucky this guy came in and further it needed some proper timing. For me the Chinese traffic is still special compared to what we are used to in Europe. Chinese do things we would never do. But compared to 20 years ago when I first came to China a lot has been changed.

Further about timing. For me timing is important. Maybe not clear for you but all shots with people needed some kind of timing (except #15). #10 is very special for me as photographer, she is throwing a bottle and I feel that is perfect timing (3 shots), She didn't catch it. One of my personal favourits,

skm.sa100, in the streets there is nothing (not that I have experienced) that is kind of "oppresive government", it is in other ways, like Internet sites (Facebook,Google..etc) that are blocked (Need VPN usage to reach those). For me street photography in China is not much different compared to Europe. (Just keep low profile).

Jozioau, about the Police shot, I feel that those women (Five in a row) just managed tourist issues, little injuries etc... they were not armed. I had never before seen 5 police woman walking in line. The image show 3. think they didn't react as I was just a tourist, one of many.

Thanks all,

Now I work on the images from Nanjing, also an amazing City, uploading within a few days,

Kind Regards,

Fred.
