Fred,
On reflection 😀 I agree. Your original version works best. |

Thanks Roger! I think you have exactly found the right words to describe my feelings about the window/reflection shot. Still like my original post most.

#2 is the winner in this set, the shallow dof giving it, well, some depth. As to your three versions of the window/reflection, I have a strong preference for the first because the vertical piece of the awning(?) adds a nice break to the uniform framing in the others and the bit of signage in the upper left adds a very nice supporting detail element for the eye to collect after seeing the main subject.

I like the bricks framing the window, just thought it would look better a little tighter cropped on the left to take out the metal frame from the blind/canopy?

For me the brickstones frame #7 and they are a necessary ingredient to make it a special picture - but that's only my opinion.

Thanks all for your kind comments!
I had experimented and struggled with the right crop for #7, but initially this gave the best outcome for me, since it gave an indication of the dimensions and I liked the bricks. However I have had a look and some tries again after your comments but it remains a struggle for me Should I include the bricks or not, if yes, how much, should I leave out the border? Here's one just with the window. Not sure if it is a real improvement. If anybody else wants to give it a try , feel free. |

Lots of ships and details (plus the night shots' atmosphere) - and very well captured: great set, Fred!
It's difficult for me to select favorites - with one exception: #7 is a really unusual take - the brickstones framing the reflected image, a great find! TFS! |

A fine series Fred
Good trade off for defying the cold. Love the light in #4, that I like best of the series (by far) But the others are fine too. |
