As a birthday present, my family took me to the Groninger museum last Sunday.
There was an exhbition from Dale Chihuly, a glass artist, as well as a photo exhibition "Dvotion" from Dutch photographer Claud Vanheye about famous DJ's.
I felt you guys & girls deserve that I share this present with you.

The set is a mixture of the museum itself and the two temporary exhibitions, just in order of appearance.

I hope you like it. Must confess, I was to busy taking pics, that I didn't note down all the names of the art works.

#1 Chihuly

#2 These were for sale. You can buy a nice camara for that

#3 'Grand Stairwell installation'

#4 Let's take a picture of that

#5 Stairs

#6 Is that Pegelli with the hat?

#7

#8

#9 Some overwhelming colours and shapes

#10 Bright colours

#11

#12

#13

TFL
To be continued...

Must be my long lost twin brother I haven't been to Groningen for at least 30 years I think.

Great set, I always find it difficult to photograph art and usually like the ones where the art interacts with the public or the environment best. So you won't be surprised that 3 and 5 are among my favourites.
Mind the bandwidth of others, don't link pictures larger then 1024 wide or 960 pix high, see here

Thanks Pieter. I agree that it is not easy to capture art in a picture.

The exhibition seems to be worth a visit. Thank you for this very enjoyable set, I like most #5, #9, #14 and #15.
How much longer this exhibitions are open?

Thanks Robbie! It is all a matter of taste, but for me it was worth the visit. The glass exhibition from Dale Chihuly is there until 5 May. The DJ photo exhibition Dvotion (maybe not worth a long drive since it is only a limited number of pics) is there until 24 March.
Best regards, Fred

Personally not a big fan of Chihuly (his art is everywhere - and so easily identified as his: entrance of the VA museum in London, the Chihuly museum next to the Space Needle in Seattle etc.) I find #3 quite fascinating.

I very much like the added vignetting in #6 - gives it a pseical touch!

My real favorites are #18 and #20 - and #24 as a beautiful b/w image!

Thanks for sharing!

P.S. Does "Groninger" mean it's in Groningen or is that a proper name?

It wasn't added, it was taken with the Lensbaby 12mm Fisheye

Both It's called Groninger museum, and it is located in the city Groningen. A nice place for a DM as well BTW.
