Topic: A77ii Mobile App? Posted: 09 May 2019 at 11:14 |
I am hoping to try shooting hands free video of the moon tomorrow night and figured that playmemories mobile might work - but it seems unavailable for download now and the A77ii is not listed as compatible for the new "Imaging Edge" software. Seems a pretty crappy thing to do to us.
Is playmemories mobile available anywhere still? Not on google store. :( Will drop by camera store tomorrow on the way to work to see if they happen to have a RMT- DSLR2 remote, but chances are pretty slim. I have the DSLR1.. but that won't help me. I just want to turn video on, and off remotely. Thanks for any advice Mike |

I can control my a77ii with Imaging Edge and my iphone. But it is very, very, very basic. Actually of no use at all. |

RCCDroid supports the A77II. I've only tried the free version with the A58 and my Samsung Galaxy Note 4. It was somewhat flakey in establishing a connection, but it did work.
I've also tried the Sony's Remote Camera Control app for Windows with the A58 which was more reliable. Play Memories Mobile used to be quite good with the A6000 once the app on the camera was also updated. I haven't tried Imaging Edge yet. |

According to the Dutch language support page Imaging Edge does support the A77m2. Where did you read it did not?
Just install it and try it. |

Yeah, with the a77II it will allow RAW Development, Remote Shooting and Display Live View.
https://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/app/imagingedge/en/devices/#amount And no, PlayMemories has been discontinued in favor of Imaging Edge. |

Thanks everyone. Sounds like I should get something to work!
The list of compatible cameras I looked at did not include any A-mount cameras. Good to know its wrong. Will still stop at the camera store - would rather have the RMT DSLR2 if they happen to have one buried in the back or something. haha Best regards Mike edit: My problem solved. Gave up on phone app - no patience on my part. Best solution for my needs is the RMT DSLR2 - and wonder of wonders, a local camera shop had one in stock. Thanks again to all - will revisit this again if I ever decide I need the app. Edited by WestCoastCannuck - 10 May 2019 at 00:10 |

Yes, on my laptop it works pretty well, but on my smartphone.. As said, very rudimental. |

Just bringing the dead back to life here. 😜
Will Sony’s IEM app allow the transfer of images from my A77ii to my iPhone? Trying to determine if I should even bother with that app. I’m going on a overseas trip to the Philippines in the next couple months, and was hoping to easily transfer images from the camera to the phone for social media sharing. |

IEM works fine with my A99ii, I'd be amazed if it didn't work with the A77ii. It's free, why not try it?

Just got it connected, and it works! Took a little bit of trial and error getting it connected, as it’s not exactly straight forward. But it does work surprisingly well and pretty quick transferring to the phone.
