The real meaning of 'Minolta colors' refers to the efforts by Minolta to create a consistent color rendition across all lenses, not that the colors were somehow special in other ways. Read this, from a Minolta expert: https://www.dyxum.com/columns/other/Historical_perspective_Minolta_lens_design_philosophy.asp Some present-day users say the efforts in pursuit of consistency were not entirely successful because they report differences in color rendition among many Minolta lenses. I personally find my own Minolta first-generation A-mount lenses to be very consistent in color AND my recent Sony A-mount lenses (the ones actually designed and made by Sony rather than Tamron or some other entity) to be equally consistent with the Minoltas as well. I don't consider the Minoltas magic in any way, but I like using them.
In my judgment, the Sony A-mount lenses I own were made that way, or in a similar enough way that I am not aware of a color difference. I think if you find color differences at all after updating from your A900 to some other model they'll be attributable to the different generation Sony sensors and their supporting hardware and firmware. I did not test it as I have not used them in the same situations with the same lenses. I like the colour rendition of both cameras.
