Can anyone please tell me why this adapter will only work whit the
Maxxum 5000/7000/9000 camera and will not function on new AF body such as 5D/7D. ?
Best regards from Denmark

Hi vsldk,

this is the way it was designed... only works with 5000/7000/9000 and not even with any other Minolta AF film bodies, not even mentioning DSLR.

Thanks for the reply Sashokv36
But look here :
http://cgi.ebay.de:80/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330077249213&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:DE:11
Citat:
"Am 20.01.07 hat der Verkäufer die folgenden Angaben hinzugefügt:
Und noch ein dritter Zusatz: Bei ergänzenden Tests mit den Kameras Dynax 5 (analog) und Dynax 5D (digital) hat der Converter funktioniert!"
(translation :
To 20.01.07 the salesman added the following data: And still another third additive: With supplementing tests with the cameras Dynax 5 (similar) and Dynax 5D (digital) functioned the converter!")

???

That is quite strange. Read here:

http://www.dyxum.com/lenses/TC/index.asp

at the bottom of the page.

I have only Sigma 1.6X Nikon/MAF adapter (should be almost identical except lens mount and aperture drive). By the way, paid for it 27 EUR on eBay. I do not have DSLR, but I tried it on the following Minolta AF film bodies: 7000, 8000i, 5, 7, 9. It indeed only works on 7000. On the rest of the bodies it does not work at all, cameras do not recognize that something is attached to the bodies, aperture does not work etc.

So I would be very careful with these adapters.

Best regards,
Sashokv36.

Hi Sashokv36
Yes I have read about these 2 Sigma converters in this forum and also found it strange in that Ebay sales.

I have this adapter and it only works on 5000/7000/9000. You can still use this adapter on other AF body but open shoot wide open and MF only.
