Thanks Fred and James, but it isn't over until it's over

p110: Last look on Glasgow (with the Clydeport crane and the Squinty bridge/Clyde Arc)

p111: Newcastle still caters to visitors without a mobile phone

p112: The Dyxum staff car waiting in line to get on board

p113: A last look at Newcastle

p114/115: The two photographers thank all the viewers and commenters on this thread for their attention and nice remarks

It was a wonderful trip, good company, good light (sometimes) and nice scenes.

It seems you see a grungy chemical plant in the background   . However, it is the Tennant brewery where our favorite lager from this trip is brewed.

Hm. I did the factory seriously wrong.

And your shots are a good finish to the Scotland trip travelogue.
I have nothing more to add.

It was a great journey, with good weather, and lots of shooting opportunities.

The following morning was grey and overcast, we started walking along the river Clyde towards the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) and the Science park

p101: Sunrise over the Clyde (looking back towards the town)

3 image pano, stitched in LR

p102: Squinty bridge, aka the Clyde Arc

p103: "The armadillo" (on the SEC)

p104: They also could have called it "the croissant"

105: "The hydro" (or "the soufflé")

106: Reflection of the Clydeport crane

107: And finally "the cheese" (parking garage of the SEC)

108: The Clydeport crane

109: BBC Scotland, the science park and the Glasgow tower

103-105: A6000 + E10-18/4
All others: A7ii + FE24-70/4 CZ

After this we went for coffee and while we were having that it started pouring rain, so we took a taxi back to town and started our drive towards Newcastle to catch the ferry back

Beautifully captured images too, just #D15 needs a tiny bit of rotation ;-)

Thx
You may be right on the leveling of D15.
However, there is no real reference, so I left it like this.what would you propose?

Sorry for the late reply. In this circumstances I always look at the clouds and play around a lot. As soon as it feels right I keep it and most of the time that works well (at least for me).

After the Glasgow Cathedral we first enjoyed a little stabilization in the beer garden behind the Cathedral House Hotel

p95: Cathedral House Hotel with the Necropolis in the background

p96: Looking back at the cathedral from the Necropolis

The Necropolis is a giant cemetery on a hill right behind the cathedral, it is reasonable well maintained and apparently the fact that it is a cemetery doesn't scare off people who just use it as a park to hang out

p97: Taking a break and catching up on social media while the baby sleeps

p98: Enjoying a sunny day behind the tombstones

p99: Bridge connecting the Necropolis with the Cathedral area

p100: If I ever get summoned to the supreme court I know where to go for a solicitor

all A7ii + FE24-70/4 CZ

Good job on Glasgow so far Domien, especially the cathedral shots

A few different views in the cathedrals from me

p88: A pietá in the St. Andrew's Cathedral

p89: side chapel with a painting by Peter Howsom of John Ogilvie (a Roman Catholic martyr) being hanged. According to the lady who spoke to us when we entered the church it's one of the main attractions why people visit this Cathedral.

p90: side chapel of St Mary

On to the main Cathedral of Glasgow (Church of Scotland)

p91: Main aisle

p92: "The Book"

p93: Chapel and tomb of St Mungo, patron saint of Glasgow, in the cellar under the cathedral

p94: And suddenly Domien vanished

89: A6000 + E10-18/4
All others A7ii + FE24-70/4 CZ

And then some in-and-around church shots

#D69 Glasgow Roman Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral of St Andrew

#D70 And the church square (where the original group shot was taken)

#D71 Glasgow Cathedral

#D71 dark and light

#D72 Shadows and light

(picture shows we were getting bored with churches by now)

#D73 Beware of

Reminded me of the story of the dyslexic agnostic insomniacs that stayed up all night wondering if there really was a dog

Very friendly people in Glasgow, that gave lots of information.
And gorgeous weather.
That made it a very pleasant and long walk, with a visit of two churches
But let's start with the streets and the weather.

#D62 Portland street suspension bridge

#D63 Central Station view

#D64 Reflection AND shadow. It will never get any better

#D65 High street

We assumed the bridge to part of the metro, but we never saw a train

#D66 Many stores To Let and many popup stores

#D67 Don't despair. Policemen inside

#D68 And beatifull wall paintings

More to come from the nice walk
