Well I go first then even without starting it.

-The grip(s) are awesome, no num little finger ever again.
_Buttons and new "joystick" feels precise and responsive and less prone to be pressed/moved by misstake., love the lockable Exp. wheel and also the new rear wheel.
- the "new" SD-card door, a lot better than those "flippy" ones the a7R II / III and more like the one the a99.

-Kind of surprised that Sonys "New" Tough SD-cards needs to be pushed/pulled all the way in/out. The older Sony UHS-II cards doesn't. Perhaps it will solve itself in time.
-Well, obviously. I need to buy a new expensive L-bracket... again :-/

Common: All Sony FE lenses have a white dot for aligning... who on earth come up with that bright idea to make it white of all colours???? Hard to see on white lenses. Yes, I know Black and White aren't colours but I call them that nevertheless...

More info:

a7R IV file info uncomressed RAW:

Reported by...
PS CC 2019 and Affinity Photo: 9504 x 6336 => ≈ 60.02MP
Luminar, FastRawReviewer: 9600 x 6376 => ≈ 61.21MP

So, my question is, what does PS CC and Affinity do with the lost 1.19MP???

Seems to me there are only two of us using an a7R IV?

-My Profoto A1X doesn't work with the a7R IV, overexposes like h3ll. Seems that it does not read the return light at all.
The older Sonys does though.

Not to bad, click and go 2 steps left for the un-cropped one, well almost as I straighten it about CC 0.5

May I ask a favor to a7rm4 owners?
If possible could you provide a couple a RAW shots made with a Batis and a Loxia. I really have to be sure if 61MP can be resolved by those lenses.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry but I don't have either of those lenses
But I'm quite sure they will.

Ouch, did you call Profoto? Did you update the firmware (they released a new one few days ago). I'm waiting for my A1X to come back from repair and I will try. So far no problem with the B10 and transmitter (but I had to update the firmware).

I like the camera.
Had two R3 before, just sold both and upgrade to a7RIV. I was expecting a9II would be more Mpx,but at the end I quickly became sure R4 is way to go.
Its AF is much more plesing compared to R3, more sticky LockON AF.
Improved EVF is nice, handling and joystick as well. Still, old a9 will track better in most demanding cases like BIF, but not that you cannot get it with R4, just maybe less keepers.
Resolution wise it is a beast, so many details while doing macro.
My 10 year old Sigma 180 macro holds well, and new Laowa 2.5-5x is just great.
One thing I noticed, had to use a bit higher shutter speed compared to 42Mpx...it is easier get into motion blur than with less pixels, handheld.
So, for me it is worthwhile upgrade and best do-it-all camera.
I do wildlife, macro and travel the most, but also wedding. For latter, it is a bit overkill, would like Sony provide us with smaller RAW files though.
JPG output is great too. Anyhow, I am enjoying camera really, get one, you won't regret.

A couple of 100% zooms from my recent trip. No sharpening, straight out of the debayer.
f/8 with a Zeiss 16-35 (a-mount) for the first one and f/8 with the 70-200GM for the second one.

Nope and nope but I will update the firmware as soon I get some time left... Need to update both the flash and the Connect remote.

That's the issue then. You should be fine once you update. Let me know how it goes.

I've had mine for a week, but haven't had much time with it... so far though, I'm loving the ergonomics, when I go back to the a9, the a9 feels small. The AF is much improved from the R3, but still not quite the a9's AF.

Got mine too.
I am relaxed now because all my Zeiss lenses are great with it.
Wish you all a new a7Riv
