Surprisingly I got some mail today and it was a postcard from Australia! Usually we don't have Saturday mail delivery here, but maybe the postal strike backlog or yesterday's holiday (Finnish independence day) has prompted mail workers to do the delivery rounds also today - or alternatively the mailman (or maybe I should say mailperson) had originally dropped it to wrong mailbox and one of my neighbours had dropped it into the correct one only today. On Monday I encountered something like that as I got an interesting large white envelope which had sender and recipient first name written in large block letters indicating that the sender was quite young, but sadly the recipient name and address (rest of which was written in different kind of letters) pointed to my upstair neightbour.

Anyhow, the card I got today had a nice picture of a koala from clk230:

As you see, there was few signs that the card had went thru mail handling machinery, but generally it was in good condition. And the other side looked fine too and provided interesting information about the subject of the photo:

This means I have now received all the DPE cards I am expecting and thus I can only wait for a word if two of my cards have received their recipients.

I was fortunate enough to secure one of MiPr's spare cards and it arrived today together with an illustration of the card itself .

This is Zdrapka (Scratchy) who while reported as being a very nice cat is also very grumpy and always moaning! I like Zdrapka's pose in this one Mirek. The card arrived in good condition with just a few bumps around the edges.

and a Christmas Day stamp

Pako ... thanks for confirming that my card arrived! Your scan makes my image look super high key. I'll have to post the original here soon.

Fun to see the cards continue to roll in.

Thank you Heikki for reporting the arrival of my card. I am happy to see that it finally made it!

Here is the original photo:

Sony ILCE-7RM2 + Sony 70-400mm F4-5.6 G SSM (SAL70400G) | 400.0 mm | f/5.6 | 1/3200 sec | ISO 200

While in Israel we don't have a postal strike right now, the post service is bad and cards are not arriving... I received only 1 so far...

The disagreements that caused the postal strike were solved last week and the mail has started to appear again and yesterday the postman brought me a card from Israel and pretty much in pristine condition even!

Pictured in the card is a desert lark:

And the other side looked like this:

This means that I am still waiting for one postcard and a word from two recipients of my cards, who apparently haven't been that active on Dyxum lately...

As mentioned on page 14 MiPr's card came in around november 8 but I wanted to wait with scanning until the last card I'm expecting arrived. But so far no luck so it's about time what MiPr sent me, a beautiful almost B&W of a green leaf against the blue sky. Beautiful tones and the card is mainly undamaged. Only if you hold it against the light it shows a few rub marks from going through the sorting machines.

Thanks Mirek, another beauty for my Dyxum postcard collection
Mind the bandwidth of others, don't link pictures larger then 1024 wide or 960 pix high, see here

I'm happy they started arriving finally :) I was afraid they were lost in transit :D
