Dyxum Meetings




Welcome! You are in the Meetings sub-forum, just off the 'Open talk forum'.



This thread acts as an index and should include links to each Dyxum meeting (please report if you see one is missing).



Use the 'Where next?' threads to make some basic arrangements and when you have a date and venue sorted out we can put a specific posting up for that meeting which will help get other people interested too - once the meet has taken place post your pics in the Themed photos thread and we will link to them from here. Remember to get us a group shot if possible!



Of course, anyone can join in the discussions on any thread, whether you are planning to visit yourself or watching from a few to thousands of miles away.

I just posted a notice for Chicago area Dyxum members interested in meeting. Please correct me if I'm wrong but...
1) The Midwest US Meetings forum and all similar forums are difficult to find, especially if you do not know they are there (that's me until a "members meetings" post was made earlier starting with p0larbear stating he knows its here but does not know where to find it
2) If someone misses the latest forum posting list on the home page about a meeting, they may never know we are trying to reach out. The notification is lost in the thousands of forums/postings on Dyxum.

How about posting links on the home page so anyone interested in any of the regional meeting forums can click and get automatic notification of a new posting about the region of their choice? As this is set up now, I think photodan & I (who have already corresponded) will be the only ones that have that burgers & beer meeting because we will be the only ones that see the posting.

If you look over on the left, you should find a permenantly displayed link to this thread is the 9th one down, just under 'Contests' and 'Challenges'.

Each Dyxum member has the ability to set up their own notifications - so you could put one to notify you every time someone posts in this sub-forum, or just every time they post in the particular regional thread you are interested in.

Small meets are still good, but to get a number of people to turn up you need to advertise it a bit longer - you might do this by putting a message (or even a link) in your signature block.
