Dear Dyxumers,

Many nice photos were antered in thei DPC showing that film still goes strong and delivers excellent results. Not easy to decide which one is the best taking into account their diversity, but the ones which won your hearts were shots by the same author - one of which get's the highest prize ...

"Family" by waldo_posth

The Honourable Mention awards go to the following photos ...

"Colorful armchairs" by mariuszlo

... and ...

"Sunset at the fortress of Ram" by svjetlana

Congratulations to the winner and the HMs and thank you all for voting and participation in this DPC, especially that this was probably my last post in my loooong "DPC story" - I decided to pass the "burden" into somebody's else hands Or should I say - put the burden on somebody else's shoulders? Anyways, thank you very much for bearing with me over those years (in March it would be nine!) and thank your for your patience

Happy shooting,
MiPr

Congratulations to waldo_posth and svjetlana. As for me, this is my first such high position in any DPC. I will try my best. Many thanks to the organizers and voters. But, but MiPr, despite your resignation, you've created a brand new DPC :)

There's a special quality about photos shot on film, and these are fine examples.
Congratulations to the winner, the HMs, and also to MiPr for all those years of organising DPCs - a hard act to follow indeed.

My congratulations to Svjetlana and mariuszlo - these are great color images!

That's a very nice surprise! Thank you for your votes and for honoring my contribution to the contest - a photo that's been shot with the Minolta AF F/8 500mm, BTW.

I very much hope that film will be very much alive on DYXUM!

Mirek: Thank you for going at great lengths making this and all the other DPCs possible!

Well done to four people here:

Harald - great image and very effective use of a much under-used lens combination; and B&W as well... It has a rather lovely 'family feel' to it which shines through.

Svjetlana and mariuszlo - so close but beaten at the final counting by Harald's image but that's not to say your efforts aren't equally worthy. Different approaches from you both but great images nonetheless; the repeating colour in mariuszlo's shot is rather special and clever framing and an 'eye for an image' in Svjetlana's shot are well worth the HM tags.

And finally - to Mirek for his tireless work behind the scenes over the last 9 years (really...?! ) - and it's not just the hosting, posting and counting that we need to thank him for, no; it's the creativity he has had to apply to come up with fresh and challenging themes during this time that has stretched us all to go out and try something different - one of the most important aspect of a photographer's life. Thank you Mirek - you richly deserve the rest!

Well done to all the other participants - don't ignore these challenges as it's a great way of widening your horizons.

Best regards, Neil.
