I am trying to figure if the Sigma 35mm f1.4 uses the normal screw drive for the A mount. Literature seems to indicate no - but then there are E mount versions and canon versions etc. Am I correct in assuming it has to be screw drive only for the A mount?

ps. Sigma used to have comparability issues because they reversed engineered the camera interface instead of licensing. Are they past that now?

The Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM has a high speed motor in the lens. Screw drive not required but it is A mount full frame and will fit your camera. It has a 4.89 rating from Dyxum users so it is probably a very good lens

Thank you. Now things seem to make more sense. I will need the USB programming adapter to make it focus properly on my a99.

What is wrong with it? If it is AF accuracy, you can correct it with the AF micro adjust of the camera.

The Sigma 35/1.4 is a great lens!

I think those USB docks are only compatible with these newer "ART" lenses , not just any lens they made .
Check up on that before buying .
As already noted , the a99 has AF micro adjustment anyway , so one isn't necessary .

Just got to be careful if you have other lenses that share the same ID number, adjust one and it will affect all others!

Sigma didn't make a non-Art 35mm lens.

I have the Sigma 35/1.4 Art which works great on my A99 and A99ii. I honestly can't remember whether I tried AF micro adjust but I haven't found it to be a problem. Is yours front or back focusing?
