Unfortunately in any practical sense I suspect you are.

Me too!

It's really hard to be sure how many A-mount users there are...

According to this article, SONY sold 3 million digital cameras in 2019. Of these, 1.66 million interchangeable lens cameras, of which 1.65 million are mirrorless. In other words, about 10,000 are A-Mounts.
Olympus, which withdraws from digital cameras, has sold 330,000 units, 33 times more.

If all people who say they want the E-mount technology in an A-mount body had bought the A99m2, that number would have been higher.

Perhaps they didn't because they already had an A99ii or A77ii?

10,000 sales of 4 year old technology they don't even bother to market is quite good, I wonder how many mirrorless A77iiis and A99iiis they would sell?

To support the A-Mount faction in SONY, it would have been necessary to "buy" instead of "say".

Many people around me and I worked hard to buy 900,99,99II, but it was still powerless.

Perhaps, but the A77m2 is no A-mount with E-mount technology, the A99m2 is. It is the A-mount version of the A7r3.

People keep asking for "E-mount technology in an A-mount body" and the A99m2 is just that.

That is about 20% of the total number of cameras produced (which, btw, is down by an order of magnitude over a decade):

CIPA numbers
a9 a6300 21/2.8 Loxia 35/2.8Z 35/1.4Z 50/1.4Z 55/1.8Z 85/1.4GM 90/2.8G 12-24/4G 24-105/4G 70-200/4G 100-400/4-5.6GM 2x TC

Almost Addy. At the end of the day it is still an SLT.   This is the only reason I have not committed. But if it proves to be the end of the line, I will.
Only from the mind of Macronut.
