Great! Took a few "blind" using a flash meter, didn't do any tests with a digital camera, looking forward to getting the roll developed.

I tried and I believe with Godox you'll only get the 9 to fire in manual mode with the pc sync connection. No TTL or high speed sync.
Even the 7 with newest film flash protocols wouldn't play ball. IIRC it looked like it should work but just didn't. |

Here you go: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07T6JRZSB/ I'm sure you can find the equivalent at Amazon UK or elsewhere. |

And, no, the Godox flash isn't triggered by the XPro-S when off camera with the 9 in Manual mode.

When the Dynax 9 is in Manual Mode the 5400-HS can be set to manual mode too by pressing the TTL-M button and selecting the intensity. If the camera is in P mode the flash changes back to TTL when you touch the shutter. |

I have a rather simple Neewer NW300 flash with ilso shoe. It gets fired on the 9 in manual and in ttl modes. Whether this uses the Minolta film protocols as well as the Sony digital ones, I don’t know. |

Does anyone have a fully manual flash they could test on the Maxxum 9? The HVL-F20M works fine, none of my Flashpoint stuff will fire on the camera despite the trigger working fine on the Nikon F3 and Minolta XD11.
Reading the manual for the Maxxum Program Flash 5400HS, it seems like it doesn't really have a manual mode. It has manual fill-flash that you trigger using various button combinations on the camera when taking a picture. It makes me wonder if the Maxxum 9 doesn't just send a signal to tell the flash to fire? edit: Just read the manual for the 5600HS, which does have a manual mode. So that idea out the window. ![]() Edited by beardedspoooon - 30 October 2020 at 17:18 |

Not unfair at all. The trigger should be able to work in two modes, one is TTL the other is Manual mode. In manual mode the trigger just needs to tell the flash to fire. This behavior is supported by standard hot shoe, iISO and multi interface by two pins. If it was only TTL mode I would agree with you. |
