Like Brian, I was also surprised you're a relative newcomer, it seems like I've been enjoying your inspiring photography for a long time. The sense of fun and enjoyment is apparent and complements your talent for invention and composition.

Great stuff, Fred! I really enjoyed reading your story here and I've always enjoyed your photos. It's funny because if someone had asked: how long has Fred been on the forum I would have said, I don't know, maybe 8 years or more. Just shows what a natural fit you are and, of course, an inspiration for taking better photos.

Thanks Sashi, Harald, Karlen, Roger and Peter! It felt as a warm bath already, but all these kind and friendly words upgrade the bath to a jacuzzi

@ waldo_posth: My father mainly took slides. Those stayed with my mother after he died. When we had to move my mother to a nursing home a coupole of years ago, I took the boxes with me. In the meantime I have gone through them and scanned what I would like to keep (anything with family on it and old city views of my hometown).

Could you explain your view about the correspondance you see between #1 and my #2?

Fred,

Thank you for sharing your story, both photographically and otherwise. I see some of my tendencies in you in that you like to experiment and try new things, that to me is one of the great joys of photography.
