The first two paragraphs on the board are consistent with what you found on the internet.
They did indeed skip the last paragraph on the board, so I did too.

But that wasn't a real movie screening in 2009, was it?

If you mean a motion picture by Picture Show, the last (?) movie showing was in 2009 - I guess they need to update the sign

The Last Picture Show was held here in 1996. Fort Jay Theatre on Governors Island.
