This is the voting thread for the exhibition of the 2020 Oktoberfest challenge.

All Dyxum members are encouraged to vote!

Please use this thread to vote for your favorite entries of each participant!

Voting will be open for a sufficient period of time.

You might use the option of adding comments as well, but on the line following your votes - please keep it within the format to make counting easier.
And please do not respond to comments directly in this thread! In case you wan to respond to comments please return to the Talk Thread for that purpose.

What should you do now?

1) Go to the Thumbnail thread.
2) For each participant, pick your favorites. Please identify your choice by date or number/identifier used by the participant.
3) Post your votes here. You can award up to two photos by assigning 3 points to the one you like best and 1 point to the second one. You can award only one photo if you like; in that case give either 3 points or 1 point to that photo. Copy the template from below, give your votes and please stick to the format (to give some examples):

username1: 3pts: 8
username1: 1pt: 6
Comments: add your comment here

username2: 3pts: 12
username2: 1pt: 24
Comments: add your comment here
.
.
.
etc
4) Feel free to add comments, but please keep to the format!
5) Feel free to reply to the comments people give you, but please use the Talk Thread for your response!
6) Have fun!

Thank you for voting!

At the end of this, we'll count all the votes and have an exhibition of the challenge's best photos of each participant.

P.S. If the thumbnails are correct, Ctrl-clicking on them will open the original posting full size in a new window.

P.P.S. Vote for yourself if you want to - you're allowed an opinion on which was your own favourite.
You can see the April Foolishness 2021 exhibition here Another great show of the talent we have on Dyxum

Jozioau 3 pts: 25
Jozioau 1 pt: 20
comment: 25: The weird bokeh adds to the touslet look of the owl - oh, it's the 8/500 mirror lens, that explains it all. 20 and 30 were a tie. I like 30 better aesthetically and colour wise. But I like how the trees in 20 are echoed in the sky scrapers. Oh, and nice find in 11. I recently saw two of them in one day - to be honest, maybe it was the same car.

alanfrombangor 3 pts: 16
alanfrombangor 1 pt: 7
comment: I like 28 for the colours, but 16 and 7 are a greater achievment, photographically. It's a pity that the horizon isn't level in 16. But you were probably shooting almost blind, with a pinhole (EVF is certainly a big help, vs. an OVF). Choosing the pinhole is brave, and it worked out well, in my opinion.

rovhazman 3 pts: 1
rovhazman 1 pt: 10
comment: Some good portrait work, here. 1 stands out for me - it's a picture that one would love to see in a family album decades later. Like the selfie in 9, too.

onsplekkie 3 pts: 3
onsplekkie 1 pt: 25
comment: I'm not really into portraits, but 3 wins easily in this strong set. Her eyes are a perfect match for her hair and the background. Love it. Like 25 for the colours and the relaxed pose of the cyclist. Like the T3 in 8 and the DSs in 16. Drove a T3 for a week or so in holidays. Driving my own car after this felt like driving a go-kart (the acceleration in my car is much worse , but you can go around the corners quicker and the suspension doesn't leave you with the feeling that you are on a ship ).

AsD 3 pts: 28
AsD 1 pt: 27
comment: 28 is a nice detail capture. I like this kind of pictures. 27 is gloomy, but that is a good match to the scene. Like 18, too, but the image is a bit too close to the upper edge for my taste.

Harm vb 3 pts: 2
Harm vb 1 pt: 3
comment: Not much detail in 2, even in the "sharp" areas. I think there's some motion blur. But that adds to the graphic character of the picture. 3 I like glasses, mugs and the like with their reflection on a table. Oh, and of course I like the 2CV in 18 too.

Robbie 3 pts: 1
Robbie 1 pt: 12
comment: A very strong set! I have the same mysterious lights in my bathroom windows, but I'm not sure I managed to capture them as good as you did. That's why I chose 12 over 5.

comment: Many good pictures to choose from. I like 3 the most because of its symmetry and positive/negative nature. By the latter I mean that some parts of the left arch are in the shadow while the correspondent parts of the right arch are in the light, and vice versa. That's pretty cool, in my mind.

comment: 15 is very pictorial. Gorgeous colours. The vignetting in the top left corner distracts. The rest of the image I like a lot. 13 is also a strong pic.

comment: 29 I find refreshing, besides being very green. I like how the bridge divides the picture in 29. Despite being a rather busy picture there are clearly separated areas: red, blue, dark grey, light grey... kinda cool.

comment: I like the lightheartedness in 1; the processing with the light b/w conversion adds to that feeling. I admire astrophotographers, so 5 is a somewhat logical choice. Though 13 is visually as pleasing. And a well executed flower closeup like 16 is always ok with me, too.

comment: One of the strongest sets, from this challenge! 19 and 3 both remind me of my own pictures (the ones that I like, ). 15 feels a bit overprocessed to me, otherwise I like the scene and the composition (to be honest, without the no cropping restriction I would crop the top slightly).

comment: Like the previous set, I consider this also one of the strongest of the whole challenge. Absolutely love 16! And while 2 doesn't have the same punch, I like the contrast between the recognisable foreground and the cloudy background. A picture that invites the viewer to let his imagination flow.

comment: A very nice set of birds. Difficult to pick a favourite, they're all strong. 1 could be a bit brighter, though.

comment: 4 is not the first time, that I made a tetraptych of different versions of the same picture - and like it. Like the individual versions, too. 9 was made around the pun and it turned out ok, though I should have paid more attention to the nails being perfectly vertical (didn't have much time, though, if I remember correctly).

comment: The curtain in 12 adds some mysticism to a daily life scene. Don't really know why I like 11 better than the rest of the set. I guess it has to do with the colours and their contrast (green/magenta). They are by the way a perfect match to the barely discernible longitudinal chromatic aberrations around the cat.

There's a lot to like in this challenge. Best pics of the challenge for me are ex aequo
