Take out those 50mm Lenses for WEEK 50

Dyxum week 50 2021 is from Monday December 13 - Sunday December 19

This is the thread to sign up for this Challenge.

Week 50 is a week-long photographic challenge and the only rule is that you shoot with a lens in the 50s (50-59mm) for the whole week. There are no restrictions on bodies.. That's right, in the spirit of Christmas, and because this challenge was started some years ago (by member DCap) as an event open to non A-mount/E-mount bodies, we are dropping all restrictions. Medium format, M43, and even Canikon... it's all okay! The only restriction is the lens and pic-a-day.

All members are invited to join us! And we hope some members who have moved to other mounts will come back to visit us. Please invite anyone you want to keep in touch with - it would be great to "see" some old friends.

Please feel free to set yourself additional challenges and to tell us about them. As always, the point is that you make pictures, challenge yourself to improve in some way, and have fun. It’s also a nice way to get to know some of the other members a little better.

If you have not joined before and do not fully understand the guidelines, do not worry. You will understand when you see - just sign up.

This challenge is for everyone! It does not matter if you are a professional or a beginner. Everyone will learn something and everyone can enjoy it.

GUIDELINES

1. Take photographs every day and post one picture for each day in the thread. Pic-a-day only!

2. Shoot for the whole week with one or many 50-59mm lens(es) (if you do not have a prime – fixed focal length - you can shoot using a zoom, fixed to 50mm, but you cannot change the focal length at all – we suggest you tape it). So called Lens Turbo's or Speed Boosters to achieve FF FOV on APS-C bodies are allowed as well as extension tubes - as long as the lens used is in the 50-59mm range. We discourage the use of tele converters, since they start deviating from the 50 mm FOV too much.

3. Because the point is to shoot only one point of view, only minimal cropping is allowed to straighten, etc. However, you may crop ONE SIDE in order to present a picture in a square or other format planned when you took the shot (the point is that you compose in the viewfinder/LV and not on the computer).

4. You are expected to comment on the photographs posted by others – there will be a Talk Thread for this purpose. This may be the most important rule of all!

5. Read the Talk Thread every time you post in the Photo threads, so that you do not miss out on announcements or comments – please try to join in.

6. If you cannot post every day that's okay. You can still join and catch up with posts when you can. If you do not have time to process your photos fully, don’t worry – post them with minimal processing. A challenge is not a contest.

I'm in with a99ii and CZ 50mm f1.4 Planar, shooting in B&W.
It's always fun, short and sharp, and for us lucky Antipodeans, long, summery, light filled days.

Allright, short and fast, I'm in.
A7iii or A7Rii, SEL50f18 (the bulk prime) for me.

One disadvantage: short, dark days...
Harm, with A7iv+A7iii plus 12-400mm glass.

With 45 qualifying lenses (nothing modern, it just happened, I have a problem) I think I'm well sorted. Unlike Leo (@darosa) I do not (yet) have a 59mm lens to make the 50s series complete, but the other days are sorted. Tough choice, but I'll commit to:

1: Minolta MD Rokkor 50mm 1:1.2
2: KONICA HEXANON AR 52mm F1.8
3: Minolta Auto Rokkor-PF 1:2 f=53 mm
4: Ihagee Anastigmat Exaktar 1:3,5/5,4cm
5: Carl Zeiss Jena Pancolar 1.4/55
6: KONICA HEXANON AR 57mm F1.4
7: Meyer-Optik Görlitz 1Q Primoplan 1:1.9/58 V

- Carl Zeiss FE 1,8/55
- Sony AF 1.4/50
- Minolta MC Rokkor-PG 1:1.2 f=58 cm
- Zenit MC Helios-44M-5
- Konica Hexanon AR 52 mm F1.8
(- Mayer-Optik Görlitz Domiplan 2.8/50)

I thought I had a problem with 18 qualifying lenses (11 50's and 7 spread over 52/53/55 and 58 mm) but my problems seem to be dwarfed by others
