I would like your best advice on what to see when me and the Missus goes on a mediterrainian cruise in may. We are spending 2 days in Venice before boarding the ship. We will also stop in:
Dubrovnik
Kotor
Korfu
Zakynthos
Bari

I would really appreciate tips on what to see and what to avoid since we only have a day in each of the places, except for Venice. We will probably not spend our precious hours wandering around in museums since we want to see as much as possible on each place. We are more interested in history, interesting houses and uniqe views. Hit me....

I can only comment on Dubrovnik and Kotor.
In Dubrovnik, walk around the tops of the fortified city walls as an introduction, then get down to street level. Explore the stepped side streets extending up from the main Placa Stradun thoroughfare.

In Kotor, as well as exploring within the walled city, you can also climb the walls extending up the mountainside for a bird's eye view down to the old fortified town.

Very beautiful places, full of wonderful buildings within their surrounding walls.

Dubrovnik was the unfortunate victim of shelling from the mountains above during the war that followed the break up of Yugoslavia. When we were there we saw a museum that documented the damage and the restoration. In looking at the town from the surrounding city walls, the restored roofs are the ones with bright orange terra cotta tiles.

I've been on Corfu but cannot really remember interesting places in the capital. There is the old inner city but it felt a bit touristy compared to the villages. Especially when a cruise arrived the city was flooded. When there was not a lot of people it was lovely.

One thing I remember, they were selling (local) Turkish Delight that (so I was told) was not allowed in Greece to be called Turkish Delight, but was called Greek Delight instead

So, I do not really have a real advice but try to avoid the crowds!

I never been to these locations. But nowadays, on the internet, there are a lot of websites/articles for "Most Instagrammable spots in XXX" , where you plugin the city name for XXX . And it will show you many beautiful interesting photos of that place.

give it a try.

Bon Voyage
