Fred_S and MichelvA - Glad you both were touched by this. AT 76 and nearing the end, I hope my sons feel ti way about me. My father left our family when I was 10 years old so no such relationship with him.

Hi Roger, not sure what triggered you to share this, but it's beautiful. My own father unfortunately lost the fight against the C-monster and died far too young, so these kind of songs really touch me.

Yes, I'm aware of his war-time service. At the time of his recording "Monsters" his dad was dying from stage four cancer, desperately needing a kidney transplant. A cousin was a match, the transplant successful and his father has recovered - that is my understanding.

Fathers Day, celebrated in the U.S. and many other countries in June, is a ways off. Nevertheless, I thought this was appropriate any time of the year and tht for some here, especially appropriate.
